All Pets Health and Rehab, LLC is led by Dr. Julia Moore, DVM, CCRT with three decades of experience in pet care. Her primary focus is on manual therapy. She will use her highly trained hands and light-touch palpation skills to identify the root cause of the problem. She will be cognizant of the pet’s whole being structurally, physiologically, emotionally and socially during the evaluation, during manual therapy and while formulating a treatment plan. Dr. Moore will find the underlying dysfunctions and strive to relieve them. When caring for her pet patients she utilizes many different manual therapy techniques, a few of which are listed here.
Myofascial release: The muscles of the body are surrounded by tough connective tissue called fascia. Fascia responds to injury by contracting and becoming less mobile resulting in stiffness and pain in the muscles and joints. Myofascial release techniques will use gentle slow stretching of the tissue to correct long standing tissue restrictions, relieve pain and allow the joints to move more freely.
Manual Articular Technique: This technique uses three-dimensional movement to place a joint in the most relaxed position, with the least amount of pull on the ligaments, tendons, muscles, joint capsule and fascia. A timed soft-tissue release occurs which allows the musculoskeletal system to regain normal flexibility and tone.
Lymphatic Drainage: The body tissues are manipulated in the correct direction, rhythm and pressure to move lymphatic fluid out of the tissues and back into circulation. By removing swelling and congestion in the tissue the body can heal better and move better.
Visceral Manipulation: The internal organs and their attachments within the body can become strained and dysfunctional. This causes pain in the organ and also pain that radiates elsewhere in the body. Using carefully directed pressure the therapist can gently release the restrictions and enhance the mobility and motility of the organs thus relieving the radiating pain and promoting the body’s natural healing processes.
Neural and Vascular Release: The nerve or blood vessel is gently stretched with just the right amount of pressure to facilitate it to relax and lengthen back to its normal healthy state. Improving blood flow to and from an injured tissue can provide healing capacity. When the nerve impulses flow better the muscles work better often resulting in improved strength, coordination and balance.

Dr. Moore graduated at the top of her class from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. For 21 years she enjoyed practicing general veterinary medicine. In 2006, Dr. Moore became the first veterinarian in Oregon to receive recognition as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. She has been studying manual therapy since 2007 and continues to attend several seminars every year, avidly learning to better serve her pet patients. Currently she is primarily training with the Barral Institute, the Upledger Institute and the Chikly Health Institute. In 2015 she founded All Pets Health and Rehab, LLC. Her practice interests are physical rehabilitation, manual therapy and animal behavior. After sharing her home with several rescue dogs, she has developed a special tenderness for pets who have overcome traumatic experiences and are struggling with fear, anxiety and behavior problems. Over the years she has mentored many veterinary students as they made their journey through education and into practice. She has spent countless hours volunteering with humane societies both locally and internationally. Her joys in life include family, fitness, life-long learning and patient care. She loves Oregon's natural beauty and all it has to offer in hiking, kayaking, and camping. Now that her kids are grown and gone, she shares her home with four wonderful and complicated dogs. She loves each and every one of them with her whole heart.
